Many girls hang on to the idiosyncratic fantasy of marrying on a white-sand beach, the salty sea breeze tousling their light, flowing gowns and the sand warming their toes as they walk barefooted down the makeshift aisle. Climatic Conditions

It cannot be stressed enough that you check the weather conditions around your scheduled wedding day. Also, avoid midday beach weddings, as the noontime sun from 10 to 3 PM may cause plenty of harm, from second degree burns to irate marriage guests. A backdrop of the sunrise or sunset adds magic to an already wonderful beach ceremony, so plan your marriage early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Invites

Beach ceremonies are not like normal weddings, where guests can simply throw on what they wore at the last wedding they attended and troop to the church. Beach weddings need preparation from you and also your guests. Attire, for one thing, is something they have to think about. For obvious reasons, a stiff, black jacket or a shiny cocktail dress is not suitable for a beach marriage. You also need to confirm your guests know the way to find your venue, unless you do not want to have guests. Send out your invites early so your visitors can stand by. Better create save-the-date cards and mail them to your friends and family.

Pests

Beach weddings are ideal for the nature-loving couple. Unfortunately, your guests must stand up to the one or two occasional pests crashing in on your wedding party. Birds that do not swoop too low and crabs that scurry across the sandy floor are sometimes not an issue, but bugs and mosquitoes can show up too. To ease this pesky problem, light one or two citronella candles and set them up in decorative candle holders to be arranged all over your venue. You can disburse little packets of bug repellent lotion at the entrance. It's a simple yet thoughtful gesture your guests will fully appreciate.

Clothes

Four-inch stilettos and the literal full nine yards are unacceptable at a beach wedding. The shore is not the best place for something extremely formal or glamorous, but it is ideal for weddings with a more laid-back and casual atmosphere. You can still don silks and linens but go for a shorter dress with a soft and flowing skirt, while the groom can also give up his suit in exchange for a satin shirt and matching drawstring pants. Go shoeless or wear sandals. Whatever you do, remember that heels have no place at the beach.

Ultimately, always have a Plan B. A beach marriage can sometimes be one of your most beautiful memories in later life, but it may also cause some serious heartache if you have to cancel the big day as a result of an unexpected downpour. Spotless organisation talents are a need for each beach bride. If your heart is set on getting married by the shore, grab your notebook and your most important buddy. It is time for some serious wedding planning.
